Yes you install the game and propably if there is anything to downloadit will be downloaded. It depends on the key that you will have with the game. Even if you get the steam version you would still need to go through uplay to launch the game.

will probably be for uplay. The only problem I have with uplay is that the download is about 200-300 kbs for me, while steam is 1. But since I now know that I can install most of the game of a disc that doesn't matter anymore.
